Menghai Spring (2017)
Flavor Notes: honey, jasmine flower, ground nut
Menghai Spring represents a perfect example of an aged, large leaf white tea. A sweet taste comprising of honey-like, floral notes with a thick body and luscious mouth feel, this first flush Spring pick tea from southern Yunnan is really something special.
Menghai Spring was fried between 120-140 C for a few minutes, then rolled in a hot wok at 70 C. Then, it was allowed to wither for an hour before being dried at 50 C in another wok. Finally, fans were used to air-dry the tea, which helped bring out some subtle — almost red-tea-like — flavors. This is a unique and lovely tea that will steep again and again.
